Cookie Policy

This page explains exactly which cookies Car Gadgetarium stores on your device, what each one is for, how long it lasts, and how to change your mind at any time. It describes what the site actually does — not a generic template.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep. It can be read back on your next visit. Some cookies are needed for a site to work at all; others exist to measure how the site is used. Only the second kind requires your permission, and this site asks for it before setting any.

Cookies set without consent

These are either required for the site to function or exist only to remember your own choice. They are first-party, meaning they are set by cargad.click and sent nowhere else.

  • cg_consent — stores whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so the banner does not reappear on every page. Contains only your choice and the date it was made. Lasts 12 months.
  • wordpress_*, wp-settings-* — login and interface-preference cookies set by WordPress. These apply only to signed-in site administrators. Ordinary readers never receive them.
  • _lscache_vary — set in limited cases by the LiteSpeed caching layer so that signed-in users are served uncached pages. Session-length.

Cookies set only if you accept

If, and only if, you choose Accept, the site loads Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-M7VMP5HMMS) and that service sets the following cookies. If you decline, the Google Analytics script is never loaded at all — it is not loaded and then blocked, it is simply never requested.

  • _ga — distinguishes one browser from another so repeat visits are not counted as new people. Lasts up to 24 months.
  • _ga_M7VMP5HMMS — keeps the state of the current visit. Lasts up to 24 months.

What we look at is aggregate: how many people read a given article, which pages they arrive on, and roughly where in the world they are. We do not use Analytics to identify individual readers, and the data is not sold or combined with anything else. Google processes this data as our processor; its own handling is described in Google’s privacy documentation.

Advertising and affiliate links

This site sets no advertising or retargeting cookies of its own. Some articles contain affiliate links to retailers such as Amazon. Those links are ordinary links: nothing happens until you click one. If you do, you leave cargad.click and the retailer may set its own cookies under its own policy, which we neither control nor can read.

Changing your mind

Your choice is not permanent. You can change it in three ways:

  • Click Cookie settings in the footer of any page. The banner reopens and you can choose again.
  • Delete the cg_consent cookie in your browser. The banner will appear on your next visit as if for the first time.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you do this per site.

Declining costs you nothing. No article, feature or page is withheld from readers who decline.

How long your choice is remembered

Twelve months. After that the banner asks again, so a decision you made a year ago does not silently stand forever.

Legal basis

Analytics cookies are set on the basis of your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a), and the UK PECR consent requirement for storing information on a device). The cookies listed in the first section are strictly necessary or store your own preference, and are exempt from that consent requirement.
